Help with importing Nikon D7000 .MOV into Sony Vegas Pro 9

Could anybody share with me how to import .MOV videos recorded on the D7000 into Sony Vegas Pro 9? All I see now is a black screen with audio. I've already installed QuickTime on my Windows 7 platform, tried converting the .MOV into .avi, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 with the Chinese WinAVI software to no avail.

(I am very new to this, having only played around with Windows Live Movie Maker but there's just only so much you can do with Movie Maker)

Convert using a freeware converter.

Sony Vegas Pro Tutorial | Fixing QuickTime Error - YouTube

As instructed in the video, I uninstalled my latest version of QuickTime and installed the recommended version, and it worked! Thanks pettypoh!

(Did you watch the YouTube clip to the end? I find his reaction so funny when his Vegas crashed :))

Does this mean Sony and Apple no longer want to support each other's products/formats after the old QT version 7.6?
I imagine Vegas 9, 10, 11, 12 all the same problem. May be a business disagreement. They see each other as a threat.
Both companies make competing hand phones and notebook computers.
