hey sounds like a nice shot
how slow are we taliking about here? and also is it for broadcast/projection/web?

my suggestions without more details are.
low budget
canon 7d - shoot at 1280/60fps slow down artificially in cinema tools
sony nxcam - has a cranked framerate mode but has no depth of field cos no lens unless u use an adapter.
mid budget.
redone - can shoot at 120fps at 2k resolution and can crank push shutter to 1/2000 which will give u super sharp image.
big budget
phantom hd - next to film this i believe is the best slow motion camera around. 1000 fps at 1920HD. records in spurts of 11 secs i think

first 3 suggestions are available at most of the regular rental houses. the phantom hd i know of two places which have it, one is shooting gallery their website quotes $4500 a day.

Er since you're under a very low budget, a Canon EOS 7D running at 720/60P or 50P would be your best bet. Chances are one of your friends might have one. What's more important I think would be the lighting. Rent one or two tungsten lights and light the scene properly.

Good luck
