Help on 280 px Auto flash

Hi guys,
I just found a Minolta 280 px auto flash from my dad's x-700 set.
The cam is spoilt and not worth reparing.

My question is, is there any adapter I can place into this cam in order to use it as a slave flash for my A40?

I assume that the settings behind the flash allows me to set the power of the flash (pls correct me if I am wrong on this)

The 280PX is a dedicated flash for the X700 (or X500) , usually used in P or A mode. It probably cannot be used in non-Minolta cameras because of hiot show pin arrangements are different.

There is no Auto setting mode in this flash either-- where one can adjust the flash and then set the aperture accordingly in the camera.
