Help needed - Splitting of VCD videos

Hi all,

I recently converted all my video tapes of home-made movies of my kids to VCD or DVD format. Right now, I am trying to split the videos up by chapters and store them on the computer.

Would like to seek help from the experts here on what is a good software to use for splitting of VCD video files (.DAT)? Would prefer a freeware software but won't mind paying for a software if it is good and easy to use.

Thanks.

Regards,
Stanley

Sorry, I forgot to add that I am using a Windows-based system.

The simplest solution is to use a stool, attach wheels to the stool legs and and use it as a turn table. You can buy roller skater wheels and use them for less shakes. You may need to be consious of the lighting when the object rotates. If the object has differen lux, you may endup with differing exposures that could throw the whole thing out of gear.

all the best.
