Hi

Any idea of the new project preset setting?
My CS3 don’t have HDV preset? or what should set/load for the new project for 7D file?

Tried in DV mode but wondering why my export AVI is just small like TV size & loss those wide? (is missing my wide side showed center of the video, like cropped ?)

Sorry, new for video editing.
Try to use Sony Vega but doesn't support my 7D mov.file ?

Any great guide for DSLR video editing on-line ?
Mind to share.

Appreciate all, Thousand Thanks.:)

You can try http://www.cinema5d.com/

videos from 7D can be edited in sony vegas...but will tend to crash often. You'll need to install Quicktime on ur computer. Usually users will convert it to easier to edit format like AVI from cineform .. you can search for Neoscene.

Or if you have a Mac Book Pro...ahah all your worries are solved.

I've tried editing on Full HD and vegas crashed. however, 720p format seem less stressful for vegas.

can u post a screenshot of your preset window. That will help alot more

jhs2669 :

7D is shooting it in 25fps H.264 codec which your CS3 / CS$ needs a really powerful PC to edit natively, if it even plays back smoothly. The *.mov is just a wrapper. So in Prem CS3/CS4 u might want to use a custom setting like :'new sequence - AVCHD then whichever mode you shot in your canon 7D (1080p or 720p) - remember to check your frame rate as well, 25 or 30.'

Do read up on cinema5d.com to understand how to do a 'proxy editing' so that you can have a smooth workflow plus output it back to full res HD.
