Curious.. anyone any idea any TV production studio in Singapore already into HD?

MediaCorp sure have a HD studio.
Nowaday, everything is moving toward HD.
Moreover, all broadcast eqpt are all HD ready

Oops...sorry...most of Broadcast eqpt are HD ready..not all:)

MediaCorp HD5 is broadcasting in HD but are they still in the trial period? most of their TV programme brought in is in HD but not their own productions?
I read somewhere that they are targeting to go full HD in all channel in 2012 (something like that).

But actually my curiousity is if any TV production studio in Singapore already have HD facilities :dunno:

Are you from the mentioned company?
If so, what makes you so sure that there is a high definition studio there? :)

I am not in the position to quote for the mentioned company, but from what I gather, HD programming is definitely increasing, and so does HD productions.
There are quite a few local programs that I've edited are all shot in native HD, and delivered in HD.

As for HD5 DTV broadcasting, materials from SD source are all being upconverted to HD. From what I notice from the picture quality, at least 50% of on-air programs are still in SD.
In standard FTA channel, eg. Ch5, one of the telltale way to identify if the program is shot in HD can be that the program is shown in letterboxed format.

New Creation Church, been there, worked there.

Full high end HD workflow and studio.
You can approach http://www.rockauditorium.com/rockframeset.html if you want to use their location/studio/equip

Indeed rock auditorium set up is impressive.. but it is not a TV Studio..
As for New Creation Church, you mean they have a TV studio with HD set up? what system they use? What VM they are using? browsed their website.. not sure if it is HD.. :dunno:

Their switcher looks like a Sony MVS-8000 series.

Seems like New Creation church & rock auditorium using the same switcher? this Sony MVS-800 support both HD and SD i think? :)

City Harvest Church's setup @ Singapore Expo is full HD, running the 4 M/E Sony MVS-8000G and records HD422.

Commerically, industry sources tell me that Broadcast Solutions has some PDW-700 cameras and they do S-league i think?

Head FCBC's going HD too.

MediaCorp's Channel-8 Drama is shot on HD, using PDW-700, but the channel output is not HD yet...they don't have a real full HD studio yet, their first will be a new OB van built to come in just in time before National Day next year, running the MVS-8000G.

Yes, the MVS-8000/A/G are multiformat. But not all inputs/outputs. It can boot in either SD/HD mode, and up to 16 inputs or 4 outputs can be the other format. Ie. If you boot in SD, you can have 16/4 In/Outs in HD, and vice versa.

The Snell & Wilcox Kahuna has all in/outs available as HD/SD, but then I have really bad experience with S&W switchers...

Ross and Grass Valley have some products too...but they're not really 'in the competition'. The winner is quite clearly MVS-8000G for flexibility and ease of use. :)
