What are the main differences between a 500C/M, a 501CM, a 503CX/503CXi and the 503CW.
Thanks for contributing.

Hello, Squalle, we should go out shooting one day ... but no more nudes :)

I think the link should be this one :

Hasselblad 500 Series

But thanks for other link, didn't realize Shriro the distributor is majority owner of Hasselblad and Imacon. No wonder their service is great.

Have you got this yet -> "The Hasselblad Manual" by Ernst Wildi - I find it essential reading for Hasselblad users ...

Oh

perhaps we should discuss on what to shoot first haha

anyway, I havent read that book yet
actually, there's a lot of information on hasselblad on internet.
This one is the best: http://medfmt.8k.com/mf/index.html
I mean, the most complete haha

I have been shooting Hassy's for over 20 years. I currently own a 503CXi body with the Planar CF80 and Sonnar CF180 lens. I only own a 903SWC Superwide with the fixed Biogon CF38mm lens. I'll be glad to share some of my knowledge/experience with these camera systems. I also have two nice books, 'The Hasselblad Manual' and 'The Medium Format Advantage' both written by Ernst Wildi. Contact me at 96314363 or email at sf_kang@pacific.net.sg if you wish to meet up and take a look at the cameras or books.

Thanks for contributing.

500CM was the update on the first 500-series camera (500C), incorporating a interchangeable viewing screen.

501CM was introduced as a more affordable replacement. Changes include plastic winding crank over the previous metal one (the plastic version is also very strong... pls dun misunderstand), as well as Accumatt screen (a big improvement over the previous screens). The kit lens has also changed from the chrome metal version to the newer C version.

The 503CX/CXi added built-in TTL flash metering over the 501 series...

The 503CW is the 503CX/CXi, improved with gliding mirror system (to prevent vignetting when using longer lenses 150mm and above), as well as the ability to hook up with the CW winder for auto wind-on and grip.

Hope this helps!

.. the vignetting that 503CW has overcome is only appearant on the viewfinder, does it also appear on the film? I have a 150mm lens, thinking of gettingg a 501cm.

.. when i use the 72mm hoya CPL with a B60-67 adaptor plus a 67-72 step up ring on the 50mm CF lens (the version that has 2 focusing ring, 60mm dia. ), all 4 corners go black at higher f, but not appearant on the viewfinder. Anybody has experience with hoya CPL, if i use B60-72 would it be ok? or i need a bigger hoya CPL.. or the original hassy CPL???

Thanks!

1 - No issue. The photo is fine. I have used 180mm and 250mm lenses.

2. - because so many rings stacked cause vignetting. Your eyes adjust to the light in the viewfinder. But the film is sensitive and record the darkened corners.
