Just got myself a Hassy 203FE with a 80/2.8 FE, and having read the manual, I'm still quite sure how to work this camera!!!

My problem is that I can't seem to change the shutter speed. For example, I set to "M" mode and set both the aperture and shutter speed. However, when half-pressing the release, the value shown is different from my setting...

Seems like is lock into the EV in that the shutter speed will change when I change the aperture. Also, I don't see a "M" or "A" when set to manual and aperture priority mode...

I think it should be something obvious, but as it is, I'm utterly stuck!!!

I did mention that I've read the manual (briefly) ;) and here's a bit more observation.

Understand that the metering is always locked in an EV value, however, the EV value does not seems to be changing with lighting condition upon firing.

For example: in "A" mode, point to a light source and press the meter button, the display shows only the speed (say 1/1000) with no aperture info. Upon releasing the shutter, it fire at say, 1/60. Point to dark area and press meter button, the display show, e.g. 2s, upon firing, it jumps back to 1/60 again!

Same goes with manual mode. If I set to 1s, it will fire at some other speed... i.e. I can use manual mode at all.

Also, I don't see and indicator in the display on the mode selected. For example, in manual mode, I should see "M", or "Diff" in differential mode or "A" in automatic mode... but when selected these mode, I don't see these indicators at all on the display. And both "D" and "Ab" is showing "A" in the display + bracketing info, but no "Diff"...

Sorry for these questions but I've not use a 200 series body before and I'm not sure what to expect.

oops. too tired. i read u were using it in manual mode. hahaha.
