:dunno:

What are your camera settings? Resolution and size of shooting?

Focal Length 38 mm
Exposure Time 1/750 sec
Aperture f/9.5
ISO Equivalent 400
Exposure Bias -1
Quality Fine

Just guessing here ... I think the ISO 400 would make the image grainy ... have you tried ISO 100 ?

Not used the Dimage viewer before, but its obvious that sharpening has been applied to the 2nd image, as well as what appears to be resampling artifacts.

Were both resized using the sdame software?

Sorry but what's sdame?

The pictures were resized in the respective viewer.......Dimage Viewer and Photoshop...

Hmmm.............ISO 400 in film prints are not as grainy......sigh is it a digital thingy? New to digital fotos..........

I guess most consumer digital camera has some grainy effect for ISO 400 due to its small ccd

maybe u try to do some test shots on ISO 100 , 200 , 400 and 800 and see the grain level ...

Thanks guys........

Anyway it still looks grainy at ISO watever......found this on the forum in DP review to reduce the graininess in ISO 400 >.

1. Turn off the green and blue layers
2. Use Gaussian blur on the Red layer
3. Repeat for blue and green
4. Turn all layers on again
5. Sharpen the image

Haven't try it yet........will let you know the results later. Cheers

So what are the results bummie?

On a side note, what prog do u guys use to d/l the images? I did not install the Dimage Viewer at all. I d/l with the ZoomBrowser (Canon).

Is there a way to d/l directly into a folder by using only Windows? Or PShop?

no it didn't work............the picture ended up looked really blur.........

Anyway I got feedback that the picture was over sharpened , not grainy....

I've resorted to shooting at Super fine mode only at ISO 100......seems ok so far.
