try with an external gps receiver? perhaps ur built in gps is faulty?

External GPS is always best. I always had a lot of problem using internal GPS

If by A-GPS you mean having to sync your phone every 2 days, then almost every phone will give good results. Once you sync with PC, syncing with Satellite will be fast. The issue is having to sync with PC always.

Eh i need some enlightenment here.... Very new to this GPS thingy too... Why need to sync with phone then sync with PC again??

Meaning u juz need to activate the A-GPS every two days or so, then after that u can juz rely on the normal GPS without using GPRS at all???

The last I used an A-GPS, you can either update via GPRS or via PC (which goes by Internet). No matter which method you choose to update, you can't run away from the fact that you need to update every 2 days.

If you don't update every 2 days, then it will get slower and slower and slower to lock on as the days go by.

I'm using N95 8GB. Without A-GPS it just doesn't work. With A-GPS it works within a few seconds of starting, and it will pinpoint your location straight away.

my Nokia navigator 6110 had been serving me well for almost 2 years.

the route 66 software is free but not accurate, so I installed the Garmin mobileXT on it. Using the freely available Malsing map I get to use the latest map.


However do note that your battery will drain very fast if you use GPS.

The log on thing is dependent of your last location. if you reactivate the GPS near where you last switch off, its faster.
