I dropped black and white some time ago. I use to own a Nikon FE2 with the motor drive and a manual focusing 50mm f1.4. All original with box. Sold them all for what ever reason.
I am now moving house and packing my stuff I found back some BW prints that I did of my kid with the FE2.
I could not believe the good feeling I had watching at them. This is really something different than the digital world. I do not know how to describe it. In english some more.;p
Since I have another kid now, I suddenly felt it was unfair not to take pics of him as well.
The next thing I know, I am at peninsula looking at the films bodies.
After some hesitations, i go home with a Nikon F100 mint. I still had some Ilford 400 in the fridge and get the baby to pose for me! I really loved playing again with a film roll. It is really a different thinking process. No trigger happy here!
Anyway, i already brought two rolls and bought some more. But once there, I remembered the low shutter speed I had to use to take my morning pics. A strobe..... maybe would be a solution ????
I use to own a SB 80 Dx, SB 600 and SB 800. They all flew. I really did not like them and preferred my studio strobes or natural light.
So now here in front of me lies a Metz hammer head 45 Ct-5.
Not familiar with these babies, I gave it a try on my digital S5 Pro first.
I just love it ! Bouncing it off the ceiling gives a great feeling to the pic.
All I can say, it that the BW film bug is back !
Now a few questions :
I am looking for the 45 CT-5 manual? Any idea where to find it?
To develop films in BW what is the place that you prefer to bring your dear rolls?
Thanks for your help!
