Xin Chao Hà Nội!
I had the chance to steal some time to shoot Hanoi during my business trip to the Vietnamese capital city last week. It was a very hot and sunny Hanoi. The pre-loaded Tri-X 400 was an overkill for a Sunny 16++
I switched to Fuji Reala 100 and then back to Tri-X 400 for this short trip.
It was fortunate that Srono was also back in Hanoi for a home visit. We went around town in his scooter for a Cha Ca dinner on Friday night and a very early morning shoot/pho bo/coffee on Sat early morning (5:30am). His friend Steven also joined us for the morning shoot. Riding pillion on the streets of Hanoi is an unforgettable experience.
@Srono: Thanks for the ride and company!!
My gear for this shoot is my M4, 28mm Elmarit and Jupiter-3. I decided to travel light
I will be posting some shots from:
- My hotel area around West Lake
- Hoan Kiem Lake area
- Old Quarters area
Cam on

Hanoi (Vietnamese: Hà Nội), estimated population nearly 6.5 million (2009), is the capital and second-largest city of Vietnam. From 1010 until 1802, it was the most important political centre of Vietnam. It was eclipsed by Huế during the Nguyễn Dynasty as the capital of Vietnam, but Hanoi served as the capital of French Indochina from 1902 to 1954. From 1954 to 1976, it was the capital of North Vietnam.
The city is located on the right bank of the Red River. Hanoi is located at 1,760 km (1,090 mi) north of Ho Chi Minh City.
October 2010 will officially mark 1000 years of the establishment of the city. On this occasion, Hanoi has been named by Frommer's travel guide as one of the world's "Top Destinations 2010"....source: wikipedia

This shot was taken at my hotel with condensation on my Elmarit 28mm. It was the hot Vietnamese sun (it was Sunny 16++) meeting the hotel-chilled lens....
