Get SONY SR12E from Tokyo?

Hi,

Is it significantly cheaper to get the SR12E from tokyo?
Was quoted $26## with two extra batt and other stuff locally (Spore).

Any advice?

should be less than $1.3k for SR12 according to Japan latest prices and is $1.8k for SR12e according to Europe price and is $1.2k according to US prices.

but take note that for Sony japan sets usually do not have the option to switch to English menu.

i dont own Sony camcorder but i think the warranty is international.

Hi,
Just bought SR12E from Tokyo (Aikibahara) at 140K yen. Works out to be SGD$2K. English menu, international warranty.+ one spare batt.
Wide Angle Lens HG0737C at 14K yen. This quite worth it as here is selling about SGD$299.

Just for info for those who intend to get a SR12E from japan.
