Hi, any users here to share? Have an issue to resolve as I'm new to this.

1) Plug in this to power supply
2) Turn on REC slider to power up and start recording directly
3) Device turn on/off/on again but did not record but stay at standby mode

*Tried turning on REC slider directly (without connection to power supply) and it works as described in manual!

Something wrong when the power supply is active??

Non-operability during charging is common for many electronic devices. FYI, gopro can be charged and recording at the same time.

negative. if you plug into pc or laptop, it cant record. need external power pack or wall socket.

Also turn on VIDEO LOOPING but when 2 issues found

1) Set at 30mins but recorded clips are saved in 890MB+ multiples instead of 30mins
2) When card is full, it does not overwrite to continue looping but shows err message to prompt card full

Is there something wrong with the SW? Does GoPro have issues of such?

Please advise

1) The GP hero3 does something similar - http://gopro.com/support/articles/hero3-file-chaptering-information
2) Are you using a 64gb card by any chance? Some GP users have reported issues with looping on 64gb cards as they are formatted in exFAT.

The reason the GoPro won't loop with a 64GB card is because the card is formatted in exFAT. For whatever reason the GoPro doesn't support looping using an exFAT formatted card. I found this out after a couple of phone calls with GoPro tech support.Smaller capacity cards are formatted in FAT32.

So I tried a little experiment and formatted my 64GB in FAT32 using a 32kb cluster/allocation table size. The best way to accomplish this (it can't be done in Windows) is using EASEUS Partition Manager available here: http://www.partition-tool.com/

So far so good, it's been running continuously for over 24 hours in record mode.

Could try using Disk Utility perhaps?

Could try using Disk Utility perhaps?

Tried using Disk Utility, the option available are exFAT, MAC OS extended (Journaled) & (Case-sensitive, Journaled), MS-DOS

Which should I use? or is it better to format in Win?

Yup, in Disk Utility, MS-DOS is FAT32.

Note that there are some things to know about FAT32 on cards larger than 32GB.
I haven't had the need to do this myself, so do read up before you proceed:

You see Microsoft impose a 32GB limit on partiton sizes for FAT32 in recent operating systems (XP onward I believe), despite the filesystem supporting partitions up to 2TB on paper. My only guess is that Microsoft wanted to push NTFS as the dominant filesystem since it's a lot more robust. I had tried formatting by right clicking the drive in "Computer", through launching diskmgmt.msc via the command prompt, and then even resorting to the CLI format utility, diskpart. None of which would allow me to create a FAT32 partition of 64GB.

Fortunately, third party partitioning software will allow you to create FAT32 partitions in excess of 32GB, so it was time to find an alternative.

Hi partition-tool is not free... free to download and make changes but to execute you need to activate it by buying the software.
Do you have other free tools than this?

I only use Disk Utility, so can't help with other free tools. Try googling?

Tried to partition using windows mini partition tool, into FAT32, garmin elite cannot read card.
So used Disk Utility to format in MS-DOS
