Freaky Sony lens cams

Looks cool. Saves weight. Maybe better resolution...

These lenses are rumored to sport the same 1" sensor in the RX100!

Imagine how useful these lenscam are for surreptitious ENG and interviews. Clamp it to something, sit nearby and film quietly on your phone.
If the battery life is good, it could be a useful B, C or D cam for OMO event shooters as you can monitor and control via handphone. These things seem to have a tripod 1/4" thread and SDcard slot.

A Sony Action Cam would be better suited for that.

Unfortunately, Sony does not make a PAL version of their action cam. But RX100 sold here are PAL compatible, so maybe this will instituted for QX100.

Not sure, just know they sell it here. In the digital age PAL has no meaning, Full HD should be good enough. Why do you need PAL?

As long as electricity companies generate their power differently, PAL and NTSC will still matter. PAL is for countries that uses 50Hz 220-240V power and NTSC for 60Hz 110V. Use a mismatch system camera under artificial light and you will get funky color bands in your video.
Most Action cam makers assume that their cameras will only be used in sunlight so don't bother to offer dual system. Only GoPro and JVC have instituted dual standards for their action cameras.

I guess most people use it outside. Besides, I always use 60Hz but I haven't experienced ****ing color bands in years.

I wasn't so lucky with my Gopro. So must always check it's shooting 25p indoors.

Doesn't it have a separate setting for the region you're in? Some cams can be set to 30 or 60 fps but you can set the flicker reduction to 25/50.

Does the Sony actioncam have a "flicker-reduction" mode that is actually 25fps?

Well, I don't own one but most better cameras have it, at least most of the ones I owned over the past decade.
