Flash for 5D

Hi.., newbie here
currently thinking of upgrading the flash from 3600HS (but still keeping it as 2nd flash) to 5600HS.

but considering the new 5600HS prices, is it better to get Metz or Sigma flashes with equivalent features as the 5600?
what are the models to choose, Metz 54? Sigma EF 500?
are they available in local shops?

I think it's better to get the Sony one to avoid compatability issues. I'm also thinking of upgrading my 3600HS been looking for a new Minolta one can't find.

anyone interested. got it in july 2006.
