...its made in Indonesia but i assumed it doesnt really matter where it's cause i'm sure it still underwent Oly Quality control and afterall it still came with International warranty.Any comments about this?
Mine is also Made in Indonesia. Should I worry? Isn't all FL-50 made in Indonesia? Like all E-500 are Made in China.

The initial batches of the FL-50 were made in Japan.

I don't think there's anything to worry about it being made in Indonesia.

What's galling is that even so, it is not any cheaper.

Initial batches... but when? 4-5 years ago? I don't think they have it in Japan any more. I agree, it should reduce the price but instead it increased the Oly shareholders profit. Well, what choise do we have? Second hand Made in Japan? No thanks, not for me. If I can live with a Made in China camera it does not actually matter. Initially I thought everything is Made in Japan, than when I bought my E-500 I realized that was Made in China as also the 14-45mm. Maybe that is the reason for the uneven quality of the 14-45mm. The 40-150mm is still Made in Japan. I think if I open my HP or Dell computers or Philips or Dell screens not much in there is Made in Europe or USA or Japan, mostly China, Indonesia and some other low-wage countries. That is not always equal to bad quality. Back in 1970's we said "Made in Japan" about everything that was bad except cameras, especially cars. Today the best buy I made was my Made in Japan Mazda. My Made in France Citroen will be sold very soon to get another Made in Japan one because that is so bad I never want to buy another Citroen again. Lost faith in them... but that is a real OT.
