I know the bulbs are over exposed

I am currently bidding for a 50 1.4 @ US$ 199 and 40 f2.8 @ US$250

Lets see how it goes...

Can you point us to the source of the review you talked about? I've seen many reviews about this DA*50-135 lens, and I've used it myself, it's certainly a lens that I'd choose over the Sigma 70-200/2.8 (which I also had, twice actually) when used on our current dSLR cameras :)

Fengwei, the link already was provided

Here you are the review, up against the DA*200mm f2.8 prime len from the above, but what I saw on gigahz 50-135 was stark sharp and nice bokeh. They claimed that the Sigma could be called a Pentax star len for a Sigma 70-200 F2.8.

Pros: optical quality, mechanical construction
Cons: absolutely none

If on the side of the barrel this lens said "Pentax" instead of "Sigma", it would be a FA* lens. It it THAT good! It is so good that I'm having a hard time convincing myself that I want or need the DA* 200/2.8 lens. This one covers the same exact focal length and maximum aperture.

My copy is the pre-DG version. Even though it is the older screw drive autofocus mechanism, it is focusing very quickly. Only in the dimmest of light conditions does it hunt for focus, but which lens on a Pentax body doesn't.

This is my go-to lens when I shoot sports. It also works flawlessly with the Sigma EX teleconverters. With the EX 1.4x converter, you have a 98-280/4 lens. You may ask yourself that with this combination, why do I need the Sigma EX 100-300/4? Truly, you will really question. You will not be giving up much.

Price paid was in May of 2005 from Sigma4less and reflects availability and market at that time.

Guys... Any one interested in getting the 77 f1.8 LT or 40 f2.8 LT

77 f1.8 @ C$ 589.99 + 60 (Shipment) 3 available
approximately S$ 795.64 + 80

40 f2.8 @ C$ 249.99 + 60 (Shipment) 3 available
approximately S$ 337.13 + 80

If we order more than one we can get 50% discount on shipment

The price seems very good and he is a reliable seller from Canada

May be we can do a combined order and save for every one! Comes with 1 year international warranty

Is that prodigital2000 on *bay? If it is, you'll need calculate in paypal exchange rate, unless you wanna risk sending ur CC info over^^;

Edit: If you do a search on them, you'll find they are generally ok if your transaction dun run into trouble. If it does, it'll be a very slow process^^;

Thanks for the link. Steven (volosong), the reviewer, is actually a friend of mine. He's been using the Sigma 70-200 for a while and he loves it. But if you wanna compare the Sigma 70-200/2.8 to a Pentax FA*80-200/2.8? One thing I need to tell you, they are not in the same league as for as IQ is concerned. Yes, the Sigma 70-200 is a very sharp lens, probably sharper than some copies of the FA*80-200/2.8, but the photos it produces are just not as pleasing as those from the FA* ;) I've had both, and I know what I'm saying.

Actually all 80/70-200/2.8 lenses are very good, more than enough for us amateurs. They are pro level lenses after all.

And sharpness alone, I'm sure the DA*50-135 is as good if not better as the Sigma 70-200/2.8 :) But they don't have the same focal range, so you can't compare them. It all depends on your preference. You want abit wider, go w/ the DA50-135. If you want to reach abit longer, the Sigma 70-200 is the one for you.

But I wouldn't not say "kiss goodbye to da *50-135" if I haven't used one. And after I used it for a while, I'd never say that ;)

I think I would still sticked to my future len of FA* wannable, kiss goodbye to Sigma instead. No money ... yet I talk so much ...I just wonder why Pentax not upkeep the legend by continuing to make FA* like 85mm f1.4, FA 80-200 F2.8 and FA 300mm f4.5/2.8??? they are still people who suffocating to find them.

But P3ntx, for the current crop factor, the DA* 50-135 replaces the film days FA80-200 f2.8, and the DA*200 f2.8 would have replaced the FA 300mm f4.5? And for the FA* 85, it will be replaced by the upcoming DA*55mm f1.4.

Well, imo the DA*s can't replace the FA*s. Pentax just made these DA*s to have better FOV on current cropped dSLR cameras. But a 200mm lens is still a 200mm lens, no matter it's mounted on a APSC cam or FF cam :)

And I kinda agree w/ P3ntx on this one. Pentax should resume their FA* product line, like they did w/ the DA*200 and DA*300 ...

Well, they'll call it something else... instead of using FA*. It's just the way product company works?! Or actually, this is how the Product Management group stays in the job?

I just say their rating and now decided to drop the idea :bsmilie:

Better see other stores with better rating and lower shipment charges

A pity aden camera pulled out of ebay, they had 100% (4067). Based on their website checkout, they only shipped to US and Canada. Their K20D body price is very gd at 1049.99 CAD (<S$1420) Even with shipping and GST I believe it's less than S$1600 with International Warranty.

their price is indeed good.

I asked them before, see if i can use paypal, but they replied that they dun accept paypal outside US/CAN. I can only use bank wire transfer.

Then, I decided not to risk it.:bsmilie:

Yeah, thought about buying the DA35 macro from them before, but no paypal for us ... Well, they won't get my money then :)

Any one has any experience with this one ?

http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/ws/eBayISAPI...go=DR&its=S%2BI%2BSS&itu=ISS%2BUCI%2BSI&otn=4

Looks very nice! I know its full manual but we have the BUTTON don't we

There is another and much more expensive Super Takumar 135 f2.5 but thats the M42 mount

Any idea on these two?

IMO, the first one (takumar K mount 135/2.5) is not reviewed very good.
The S-M-C takumar 135/2.5 is the best, even better than CZJ 135/3.5 (which I owned for a long time before).
As for the Super takumar copy, it is not sure whether SMC was added (some did, some not). I owend some super takumar lens b4 also, they are all a little yellowing.

The price for takumar K mount 135/2.5 is always very cheap, if you want it, you can try looking for some "no reserve" bidding, better than this BNP one.

Just my 2 cents.:)
