thanks i got a better quote . cant make up my mind to which to get.
i am only getting one for dvx.

So how much was the quote you got? Sharing info should be 2 way, right? :)

I have been using firestore extensively and shot several events with it.
It does add additional weight to your camera, and the battery only last for about 1+hour.
But you can really say goodbye to your minidv tapes and no more capturing..

Personally, the most best part is that after every single shoot I would upload it on my laptop and show my actors the footage.. it only takes like.. seconds?
No more playing it back on your mirco in-camera viewfinder.

but if you have all the time in the world.. and wana save money you could skip this toy.
for serious biz guys who has no time, it would b one of your best investments.

I THINK i could get one below retail price.

regards
dave

Sam, how much were you quoted? You still haven't mentioned it.

Hi sam! I'm using -C i think (The one for canon)

I'm currently using FS-100.. supposedly for use with the HVX.. Works fine but better check if the fs100 can connect to ur comp.. comp muz also be able to edit in the formats available..

PPro cannot edit natively in that format..
Matrox cannot connect to FS100...

Super troublesome..........

Not suitable for handheld shoots.....

fs100 ---- USB CABLE -----> your computer

the last time i check with 1650.
can check with supplier as its more accurate.

Hi Sanvision. I'm looking for a good (as in cheap) place to buy a Firestore FS-C hard disk unit for a Canon videocam. I have a friend coming from UK in a couple of weeks to buy some gear, and he's looking for a place where the knives are not too sharp. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Samvision, would you mind sharing the name of your FS-C dealer? Thanks!
