Dear all,
I wish to offer a service to clubsnappers who need scanning of their slides and negatives, at a relatively affordable price.
Sizes are 35mm (negatives and mounted slides), 120, 4x5inch large format.

Prices are as follows: (First price-2400dpi; Second price-3200dpi)
35mm negatives/slides: per roll - $8; $12.
Mounted Slides: each slide - $1.50; $2. (minimum 5 pieces)
4x5inch: each negative - $4, $5.
Burning to CD: $2 per CD required. Each CD will be filled completely before using another.

All files are in JPG format, but can be stored as TIFF if requested.

At 2400dpi, you will get a 7.9 megapixel file.
At 3200dpi, you will get a 14.1 megapixel file.

I will just scan the files and burn to CD, and you can touch up/work on the digital files yourself.

Just bring it to me yourself, and self-collection, so you can keep costs to a minimum. I do not mind, however, if you would like, to pass to me at SEED, and then collect a day or two after from me.

I am offering this service as an alternative to those done by photo shops, to all clubsnappers. Hopefully some of you might find this useful, and much cheaper alternative to high-res scans done by Colourlab/Konota etc.
Please note that most of these Scan-to-CD services done by these labs only give you a 1840x1232 (2.2 megapixel files), barely sufficient for working on. I am giving 3456x2304 scans (2400dpi), and 4608x3072 (3200dpi) scans for 35mm format.

If any of you have any comments about how I may modify any of these options/services, please do feel free to post them here, as after all, this is meant to be a service catered to your needs.

I hope I can help fellow photographers who do not feel the need/do not yet wish to spend on an expensive scanner, to be able to digitize their files at a nominal fee.

Please PM me for my contacts.
Or email me at icebooke@yahoo.com

If I have spare empty CDRs, can I pass them to u as well?
Or even cdrws?

ermm.. price for 120? ;)

Hi, what are you using to scan? Consumer-level slide/film scanner - and if so, which model - or (gasp) drum roll scanner? Need to know to gauge potential quality of scans.

Thanks :)

Color Depth?
Brand of film scanner Used?

Price for 120 (6x6, 6x4.5): Per negative/slide: $2; $2.80.

I use the Epson Perfection 3200 PHOTO scanner.
This is the scanner most design houses use currently for medium format, but I use both 35mm and Medium format and find it to give great results. I run my own Portrait photography business from a home office, hence I use this for my own work.

It uses a 6-line CCD scanner, as compared to 3-line for all other units in its class.

You can also find a review in a March version of Amateur Photography magazine.

I hope I have given sufficient information regarding the scanner.
Please feel free to ask more, so that I can furnish you with more information I may have missed.

Thanks to those who asked the relevant questions for me to include more info for things I left out.

I am quite interested in this...

Can you tell us more? Where do we pass the slides to you, how long you take.

Btw, if I want to print A4 size, is 2400 dpi enough or too little? By enough I mean an acceptable quality.

Please PM me your contacts.

Thanks!!!
