my unce gave me a trunk of darkroom supplies. inside were two metal cans of kodak microdel film powder developer, and powder acid fixer. they are at least twleve yrs old, and when i shake them, they sound consistent. are they good to use?

if its still in powder form, it can be kept for long time, but 12 yrs.......not sure.....

Powder developer and powder fixer is very cheap, the Kodak d76 is about 7 dollars per pack to make 1 US gallon, the fixer is cheaper than the fixer, buy new one lah.

I think it is Microdol. Powder should keep quite long.

Just mix it and test it out lah! Shoot a roll of 10 exposure bulk rolled film and try it.

But then again, developers and chemicals in general are cheap, if you dont want to waste time, just buy new ones. I recommend Fairprice (clubsnap nick), he has got plenty of Ilford stuff going at rock bottom, basement price.
