Most interesting to me was the claim that at high altitudes (planes), gamma rays can fry individual digital pixels (and entire rows of pixels). I had never heard of this before, and I don't think I have ever noticed it personally either. It could be that camera companies fix this in software, or the problem is bogus or too rare to cause trouble.
