Hi guys,

Just bought a Minolta Dimage Dual Scan III.
It works fine and I love the scans

but when I mount my negatives onto the 35mm mount
(this probably happens to other scanners, I don't know)

1. I get my finger prints on the negatives because I
need to adjust the position of the negative
2. The negative merely gets aligned to the brackets.

Is there any technique anyone uses to do the above better ??
Is there is better mounts the secures the negatives/positives
in a easier and more precise manner ??

I think most scanner's negative carriers are like that - very fiddly to use. I don't know about the Minolta, but the Nikon scanners let you feed film strips directly into it, without having to use such an adaptor, tho there's one supplied if you DO want to use it.

You do need very nimble fingers to use all these. ;p

i believe because your film is bented, that's why U got a problem mouting it with the carrier/bracket.

1: adjuct the position of the negative/positive by moving the edges.

2: mount your negative/positive under bright light.

3: close the bracket on one side 1st, then adjust if necessary and close the other side.
