Film Alignment in Camera

Hi all,

I just got my first roll of film back from the lab yesterday. Overall I'm quite liking the photos!

I have a question about the alignment of film in the camera. I noticed that all my photos seemed to have a kind of funky border on top. Like the image wasn't projected properly onto the film. I suspect it might be the mirror not going up fully but I'm not entirely certain. What could possibly cause something like this?

Any help is much appreciated! I've also attached some photos below for illustrations. The black border can be seen at the top of the lab scans. Thank you for reading!

The borders are quite common. Just that the lab scans are wider than the film

Nothing wrong with film alignment. The scanning is a bit wider. Just crop it.
