Wow aren't the tickets for turn 2 around $1.3k?

Have you all seen the Canon F1 Photo Exhitbition by F1 photographer Paul-Henri Cahier along Orchard Road recently?
Even with his 1Ds MkIII and pro lenses, still motion capture with enough lighting is damn hard. Alot of his shots were blur, especially the panning ones.
I guess it's ALOT of skill and luck shooting the F1 in Singapore as the space is a real constraint.

He shot with a canon leh... Hahahahaha.... ;p
Jokes aside, he most prob wasnt going for those standard 'sharp' pics. Else, he would just be like the rest of us.

So you can also use prime such as 35mm or 50mm for the F1? Frm your exif it shows as 50mm?This is taken with a Zeiss ZF 35mm:

Do point out if I am wrong. I thought in Singapore's F1, unless you are an official photog covering the event, there is specific ruling stating that any other spectators are not allowed to bring in tele lenses longer than 200mm?
It was 300 last year... =)
Initially they restrict to 300mm but was lifted after much hoohaas.
BTW I bought in my 500mm with a hugh tripod. Funny thing is the security at the checkin says I can bring in my tripod but cannot use. :dunno:
This year I watching it on TV only. Have fun.
Why cannot use Tripod? So did you it eventually? Wil be going F1 but not sure what to bring now:dunno:

Any lens can do but it's a matter of how big an F1 car you'd like to see in your photo so I suggest since you are sittin @ 1st few row get as close to the track as possible and DO WEAR EARPLUGS
Since you hv only 2 lenses bring all:bsmilie:. I'm also bringing 4-5 lenses to see whic one works best. Hey, it's only once a year (mayb the only time cos I can buy a f2.8 lens with this $) so weight is nothing compared to a missed opportunity.
As for settin, Boost your ISO to as high as you r comfortable like 1600:bigeyes: & I'l probably try with S mode to get the fast SS, depending on the angle you shoot so anything from 1/160 or faster should do. I'l also shoot in RAW so can tweak Exposure if too dark. Anyway you have 60+ laps to try so go for it. Good luck:devil:
Thx bro for the info. Too late to rent a f2.8 lens now so wil do with wat I hv for now. Unless I splurge $2.5k on the 7-200f2.8 from B&S:think:
