Just got mine from JB KSL 4th Floor camera shop called CLS. 580RM=S$240+ based on exchange rate 2.4. Hurry!

Just came back from JB... MeeToo at Plaza Angsana offered me the same price - RM580.

any one has sample shots with a 35mm F1.8? or 50mm?

If our FF nikkor lenses can deliver with good sharpness using the Nikon 1... we're future proof for FF sensors up to 70 mpx?

Wait for Chinese to duplicate a cheaper version

Tried out the FT1 with Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR at the zoo. Although it is not one of the compatible lens, the 70-200mm was able to focus quickly and the VR was working well.

Any f-stop loss? Still can get f2.8?

No problem. In fact, with the exception of the orang utan pic, all are taken with f/2.8. Unlike a teleconverter, FT1 is just an adapter with no glass inside.

Thanks for the reply. And how about the IQ compared to say a D5100? Is the loss of IQ significant?

I meant the IQ of the V1 compared to a DX using the SAME lens.

I feel that FT1 will have minimal impact on the image quality. To answer your question, yes there will be differences when you compare the image taken with the same lens on a DX and a CX sensor. These differences (e.g. high ISO performance, bokeh, etc) is due to the sensor and not attributed to FT1. Hope this answer your question.

You can visit this link to see more images taken with D300 and V1. The setup for D300 is 70-200mm + 1.7xTeleconverter.

Can it be used on a tripod with lenses without a tripod collar e.g. 28-300?

Or will it be too unbalanced or cause excessive stress on the mount?

I think the FT-1 will really reveal the resolution of the lenses, how much sharp they really are, abeit only the centre.

Yes, the FT1 has a tripod mounting foot built-in. But I have not tried mounting it on a tripod or monopod.
