Eyeing canon 28-105mm f3.5-4.5 II USM. $370?

As above, I'm eyeing this lens as a general walkabout lens for my travels. Low on budget.

was quoted $370 for this lens at a reputable shop. Is that a good price? or should i just wait and perhaps buy one off the 2nd hand market.

$370 is the brand new price at the shop with agent's warranty. I'm guessing that's too high?

I'm really considering it to use for my travels ..

Hi,

I heard that canon is not producing this lens anymore(according to Alan photo in Funan).

I jus bought a 2nd hand piece of this, its a value for money grab, 370 for a new piece worth considering.

Most of the ppl selling at about 250 2nd hand here.

Yup, that's what i read. This lens has been discontinued from production. The shop told me that it used to be $500+ but because this lens has been discontinued, the price has dropped to about $370.

Do you like the lens you bought? What purposes are you using it for?

Yo,

I tried the lens, IMO

pros
1.Sharp pics for a budget lens
2.Decent coverage
3.Very low noise(almost silent)
4.Fast focusing(USM mah)
5.Nice contrast too.

Cons
1.Just a little heavy
2.Might not be wide enough to replace the kit lens.

With that i decided to keep the kit lens as a spare and just in case the wide angle is needed.

I bought this so i can bring it for my travelling and SBG shoots.
