I haven been using my macro lens for macro shots though only abstract shots recently.

i have said that i want to buy macro lens and flash for 1 year plus already

up till now, i still haven't buy... never mind, just use 70-300 fake macro to shoot soft pictures :bsmilie:
 

Btw, that coin shot was taken with reversed 24mm lens on extension rings thus the high magnification.

Change your syste lor, then can borrow from the koala. :bsmilie::bsmilie:
 

under the club that i join......only for paid member.....is a talk cum shooting outing.

90mm cannot shoot most butterflies, only the lazy, lazy ones,. :bsmilie:

or perhaps those that just emerge from cocoon and need to dry their wings

I used to shoot butterflies with just the 90mm... and dun forget there is a crop factor for the APS-C systems...

i think you probably just got blue glassy tigers and tigers.. :( those seem half-dead most of the time..

i think to get the imperials ( so pretty!) need at least 150mm.
 

go kope microscope lens from science labs and use in cameras as micro lens.. can a not ah. lololol

actually I got about 57 species of butterflies then.... I made a list. :)

Now have not shot butterflies for a long time.

that's cool. must have had a lot of patience. :) they are not easy to shoot, these butterflies.

can... but you can only shoot tiny non-moving objects... :bsmilie:

crop slightly to balance the composition. And had to do a lot of crouching and sneaking... :bsmilie:

Those you'd need a 200mm at least and very good fieldcraft... :bsmilie:
