Hey guys, I recently found some Kodak Gold 200 in my dad's cupboard.
The films have been expired for about 10 years and decided to take some photos with these expired films. So here comes my question.
How old is too old for film?? How will it affect the quality of the image?

Its never too late haha, especially if the film is stored properly. If you are concerned about perfect image quality, expired film is not for you. People who shoot expired film usually store them in the fridge. Image quality will be affected, be it grain, colour casts, etc. Anyway Kodak Gold is cheap film lah, go buy a fresh roll lah.

Haha.... These aren't my rolls... And they weren't stored in a fridge.... Besides its my first attempt to shoot expired.. Just wondering how it will turn out

If it is a exposed roll, I will send for processing and find out what is that,
if it is unused roll, I will just throw away, it does not worth my time and money to see if it is usable or not.

anyway, just send for processing and you can find out the answer, it only cost you a few dollars..

if it's not for important shots why not just run a roll and see how it turns out. color might be funky, there might be more grains, but if it's for fun shots why not?

you don't always need technically perfect pictures anyway.
