While doing the model photo shoots, someone raised the question of what is the exact dimensions to crop when sending out for commercial prints, hence I would like to post here for share.

(all in inches)
3R - 5x3 3/8
4R - 6x4
5R - 7x5
8R - 10x8
12R - 12x8
14R - 14x8

(all in mm)
A4 - 297x210 (about 11.69x8.27 in inches)
A3 - 420x297 (about 16.53x11.69 in inches)
A2 - 594x420 (about 23.38x16.53 in inches)
A1 - 841x594 (about 33.11x23.38 in inches)

don't think this thread belongs to this section :D

erm....

8X12= S8R

Since we're at this, those interested in doing 20"X30" print at good price, PM me ;)

And isn't 12R = 12 x 16?

What are the R sizes for:
10x12
10x15
16x20
20x30 ?

Think it might be clearer to use x by y instead. The R system too confusing beyond 8RC/S8R. :)

CK

I dun think 4R is exactly 6x4 inches cause I've tried once on my photoshop do resize a picture to 6x4 inch jpeg and sent it in for developement and it still got cropped.

machines will tend to crop abt 1-2mm off the sides. always leave space.

That's why I always print with white border :)
