EPM1 - IS not working well

Fainted... 1.6s shutter speed and you expect sharp results hand-held. I don't think there's anyone on earth who could handhold 1.6s shutter speed unless he is a dept store mannequin. Even 0.4s would require really good handholding techniques and even then the blurring may not due to the photographer's handshaking but maybe due to slight movement by the subject him/herself.

I think mike from toronto shot 2 sec with his e-300? Hahahah,but 1.6 is too long even with IS for most people. The camera may have chosen those settings as part of night portrait, along with possible iso limits, hence the long shutter

sorry.. i meant that the settings were a surprise to me.. no idea why the cam had set up long shutter speeds for normal conditions,

Seldom use iauto mode, always have doubts about how intelligent this mode can be. But 1.6s is certainly too slow to handhold. In order to handhold, the rule of thumb is 1/(FLX2) for m43 cameras. Meaning if you use at 14mm, it's 1/28s at least to handhold. With effective 1-2 stops (assume, although it's mentioned to have up to 3 stops) of IBIS, effectiveness varies from ppl to ppl, one can possibly handhold up to 1/14 or 1/7s, and still that's for non-moving subjects. 1 stop = half the speed.

So for longer focal lengths, the speed need to be faster accordingly.

You might want to retest your IBIS again, can refer to the thread link earlier i posted.

will retest using non iAUTO modes. I normally take using P or A mode, which seems fine.. I guess should the iAUTO program isnt as smart as i thought..

Uncle Wong, you very bad lei hahaha I've used the Panasonic's compact with iAuto, not bad lei, but then again... I didn't really test in low light =/
