Hi, anyone has experience buying from Bally from Funan?
How is their repo, can share?

Just got quote for a brand new Canon EOS 30D (body only) without freebies @ $2050 c/w warranty from Canon Singapore. Sounds good!

hmm.. if without gst then its really a good bargain... now normally it cost about 2250(with gst)...:bigeyes:

Common problem with such quote.. when you say you want a set.. they will lend to make a phone call and tell you no stock... I have few similar encounters in shops in Funan.

Bally is Canon Authorised Dealer...should be okie to buy from them

If they show you a new set (make sure not demo set) and have local warranty. Go for it!
However, the common package is 1GB Lexar 80x (given by canon) and EF Lens Work III book. I will probably pay another $100 more for these 2 items in a reputable shop like Cathay/AP/MS Color. Hope it helps

Hi guy, I think I may go for a second hand 20D and use the extra buck to get a 85mm F1.8 instead!

I am not sure if the price is incl. of gst. Only assume that it does. Anyone interested can always call to check.

FYI, new 20D in HK is about $1,650. Better deal than $1,500 for a 1 year old one here without warranty. HK warranty not valid here but at least it is NEW.

EF 85 1.8 is a fantastic lens. You will love it.

yes, I just checked out HK price......30D can get ard HKD 9000 +/- No freebies but comes with 2 years warranty. :thumbsup:

Yup 2 years HK warranty - no use in Singapore.
If you travel to HK a lot, it makes some sense.
If not, then ....

If you are buying 2nd hand 20D though, buy from HK - no warranty never mind, same price as 1 year old used one in Singapore.
