I connected my dynax 5D to my Canon IP3300 and all it says is Initializing USB connection. Doesn't seem to be able to connect.

Got it to work. Turn out I didn't set the file tranfer to PTP.

so how's the print out?

so how's the print out?

On the Canon IP3300 not to bad print out. Slower print out from DSLR than from the computer. Colour wise I think my older Epson C65 was slightly better but it too slow for my liking.

I think the photos printed from camera looks more like what we see from the screen. I suppose if you want prints from computer to look accurate you need to calibrate monitor.

ya... but there are also things like the ICC or ICM which also affects the color output

Have you managed to resolve your printing profile issue ?

How "off" is it ? Color shift, brightness or contrast ?

Not that I fully know what to do to correct it though, cause using a Canon rather than an Epson. :embrass:

nope... the color still abit off

black appears blue... i cant get the black shade

Wow that's way off...

Some basic thing to check. Which print software do you use ? Does it recognize both the source file profile and the printer profile ? For printer profile did you set your printer settings according to the printer profile settings ?

its not totally blue la.. but it appears in the shades of blueish...
i wonder is it because of my calibrated monitor. i used the the printer profile and use default settings to print, dont work
i tried to change the settings abit, also cant get the right color.
i tried using some other profile color turns out nicer but it still doesnt work.

Each printer profile is created specifically for specific paper and specific printer settings for best result.

Generally when you want to print...
1. Print using software that is aware of both input profile and the output (printer profile).
2. Set the printer profile you want to use in the print software.
3. Set the printer settings that are required for the printer profile you are using.
4. Load the paper for the printer profile you are using. Different paper will have different printer profile for best result.
4. Make sure no printer profile or ICM is enabled in the printer. ie all profile selection is done via the printing software only or you will get what is termed "double profiling".
5. Print and enjoy the output.

This work for me. Canon printer comes with printer profiles for some of their more common type of photo paper. Hope above is correct, cause I'm newbie at printer profile as well. Got to find out more recently cause my wife wanted to print lots of photos from our recent Korea trip.
