its Genting lah... even point and shoot survive there... temp is only about 20 degrees...

check the camera manual...there should be a set of operating guidelines of the camera heat/cold tolerance.

can also look for those freeze proof camera as well.

if worried the battery will quickly go flat, can bring more batteries.

wow.. -15C it's extremely freeze for me :bsmilie:

i think depend on your DSLR also.. but genting is a wet place..

Since you have bought the cam, use it. If you sayang it too much, it becomes a waste of money.

You need to stabilize the pressure at every 50m you drive up to Genting, assuming you drive. If you don't, it will explode!

Come on bro, there are people who have brought their gear up to Mount Kinabalu, definitely higher than Genting. If you are very worried about condensation, or getting wet, laminate the whole camera ... will be water proof. But when you want to change battery, have to break seal, and laminate again.

Yes, you can use it at Genting.

Most camera can operate without problem between 0 degrees to 40 degrees celsius.

i scare your DSLR will end up on other abeng hands.. coz you pawn it. lol

Yes you can!

If you have doubt about the condensation that lead to fungus; then just let your gear stays in the bag and put it in room temp for 1 or 2 days to let it 'adapt/adjust' to the temp in SG prior using it again...

Yes, it is better to be cautious than too late....Cheers mate and happy holiday!

As of most ppl no prob at all bring your DSLR there, u try going to the temple at downtown.
Free shuttle bus provide outside highland hotel ( if i'm not wrong ) , there is a signage there.

The view at the temple and the surrounding is BraVo !! Other than that , there is also swallow nests on the ceiling of the temple. ( it's outside near the food area ) :D

If you need to go Casino, you can place your Dslr with the security at the counter ( Starworld not sure of the one at highlands )

you only need to worry about condensation when moving between places of different temperature:

If the inside of your house (or wherever you keep the camera) is both warm and humid, you could have a problem of internal condensation when you go outside and the camera starts to cool off. This never happened to me in a year in Barrow, Alaska and another cumulative year or so in Antarctica, but it was reported in some of those other threads. I'd guess you can minimize it by keeping the camera in dry conditions (low humidity) before taking it outside.

If you take a cold camera into a warm, humid house, you WILL have a problem of condensation (this time, on the outside primarily). That problem can be avoided by sealing the camera inside a ziploc-type plastic bag before bringing it indoors, and letting it warm to room temperature before taking it out of the bag.

don't need 1 or 2 days......................... :sweat::sweat:

Coming from personal experience, I had seen compact P&S camera being used remotely for serveral hours continously in unpressurized section of an aircraft where the atmospheric pressure and Outside Air Temperature (OAT) can drop down to 239 hPa to 188 hPa and -25° to -35° respetively at cruisng altitute with minimal or no modification at all. ;)
