I have been using the Am-Pro one for 2+ years, still working.
Must say that it is really cheap. Got mine for about $120 from Alley Photo (where are they now?). It was highly recommended by the dealer. (but you know how they are like)

I got their AmPro 30L for $99 last year at Alley photo (Suntec City). I think they are trying to compete with Carrefour. I got the Carrefour 30L one 2 years ago for $99 as well and it's still working.

The Digi-Cabi and Am-Pro Dry Cabinets come from the same distributor - Digital Point (Formerly known as Celestar [which was the former trading name of the now defunct Alley Photo]).

Be warned that the Digi-Cabi and Am-Pro cabinets sold at Carrefore and the Digital Point outlet at Suntec come with only one year warranty. That is probably why the prices are lower. This might be a point to consider when making your purchasing decision.

Having said that, I have owned a Am-Pro cabinet now for 2 yrs and haven't had a problem with it. The same however, can't be said of the other cabinet(Tropic Dry) I have.

It is of my opinion that the Digi-Cabi Cabinets, while coming from the same manufacturer are made to a lower price point and reflect it. If you can, do a side by side comparison and you will see that the Digi-Cabi cousins of the Am-Pro Cabinets are of lower build quality(inferior ABS plastic trays + rougher metal work + fit & finish + hygrometer quality). I'm not sure about the electronics though but do believe that they are both fitted with the same dehumidifier package to save on manufacturing costs.

But having seen Am-Pro cabinets selling for the same as the Digi-Cabi cabinets, I'd be more inclined to buy the Am-Pro badged versions.

I have both cabinets. The Ampro shelves are drawer-like, so you can pull the shelf out to get your equipment. The Digi-Cabi doesn't. However, the Digi-Cabi's shelf base is felt (or some cushiony material) which offers basic protection to equipment against scratches.

The AM-PRO Cabinets come with thin foam squares in the those trays and that does the same job of cushioning my gear. So far they haven't shown signs of perishing. so fingers crossed.

That's odd. My 30L Am-Pro one didn't come with any cushioning...Hmmm... Maybe that's why it was on sale at $99 back then.

Perhaps they were removed, was yours fresh outta the box?.

I think the foam squares are there to prevent scratches on the plastic trays during shipping, and are meant to be thrown out once the cabinet has been unpacked. But I found them useful and kept them.

My cabinet is an 80L(76L nett vol) - mebbe the smaller boxes don't come with them.;p

For those with a higher budget, get a better model if possible.

Buy Buy Buy.....Buy a new one and sell 20L to me......:D
