Driver for canon 30d on windows xp

I jus bought my 2ndhand 30D and along with it was this cd "EOS DIGITAL Software Instruction Manual"
It doesnt have any intallation software for the driver and softwares needed for the transfer of photos onto pc. =/
i have looked up canon.com.sg and tried to find the driver and software in their Downloads section. BUT they dont seem to have any driver for windows xp. I'm new to this camera.

you guys know any solution to this problem?

or is it XP is so good it doesnt need to install the driver? =/

It should have another CD with all the canon software including the WIA driver(for the cam to communicate with the computer) , DPP, Zoombrowser, Photostitch and the EOS utility.

From my experience with the 5D, windows XP just detect the camera and I can see the pictures in the "removable" drive. No drivers needed.

EOS Utility is the one responsible for syncing Camera and Computer (to download image). You can get the latest version along with the latest DPP ver3 here

thanks guys! i've been reloading the cd countless times and reading the freaking maunal countless times. =/ no setup file.
i cannot update a file i dont have. =/ i need the EOS utility software.=/

you should be having 2 CDs. 1 is instruction manual and the other is the utility installation.

If you don't have the CD, you can download it on the URL i have posted above. If you are still having problem loading the software, it could be an issue on your XP but I doubt. Just download 3 softwares on that URL. DPP, EOS Utility and ZoomBrowser and you should be able to play with your photos Let us know if you still have issues installing it and what error

Why do you wnat to use the camera as a card reader? Get a card reader, take the card out and transfer the files that way. At the ver least, you don't burn out your batteries for something other than picture taking.

Those files are only updaters. I dont think they allow you to install if you do not already have an existing copy...so TS would need to get a copy of the CD or else just use a card reader

oppss sorry my bad...before can lets you download this software with just your Serial number... Let me try and find how i did it before. Ill get back hopefully with the answer to your problem :sweat:
