With a mechanism suspended on a few wires, I'm sure VR lenses will not survive the same "power" shake.

Does it mean, even protected by camera bag, upon impact, the G value will still damage the mechanism? :think:

I believe lens makers has considered minor bumps on their lens design.

I think there should be a locking mechanism when the VR is inactive.

No worries, they are not that fragile.
What I'm trying to say is that we should not perform "power" shake, (the same intensity that could damage the aperture mechanism) to our VR lenses.
