Cameras which use Infra Red film sensor (or something like that) will not be able to use IR film. If I am not wrong, the Nikon F80 is one of such.

wat is Infra Red film sensor for ? then wat is the nomal type of sensor? wat are the differences?

thanks in advance, ckiang.

The IR sensor is used as a film counter, ie it detects how much film you have shot. F65 oso uses a IR sensor.

Hmm..
If I'm not wrong, there used to be a thread over @ Nikonians that you could use IF film for the F80..
Only that the top part (the sprocket aka teeth part) will be "exposed"...
but it will not affect the exposure...

Canon EOS30 does that too. So, no IR film :p

I believe those with date imprinting cannot as well. Remember to turn it off.

IR imprinting of date? cool!

I think he's talking about the Nikon F80S...

I had read it somewhere in the web that for F80 if you use IR flim, the only problem is a thick line will appear accross the flim near the bottom (I thnik) of the flim, but the rest of the film is still working fine. So you will lost about 80% of the working area.

but still ppl try anyway... some are happy with what they get...
eg EOS 50 uses IR frame counts too, but users say it's pretty ok with IR film...
