Interested to know if any c-hing here buy insurance to cover your Leicas.

Some of you got so much gear, got cheap insurer or brokerage to recommend?

some interesting questions:

i. need to have proof of purchase?
ii. 2nd hand lenses can be insured anot?
iii. need to do valuation?
iv. how to show damage during claim?

i have checked this for watches and chubb insurance came recommended.

they call it masterpiece insurance. they will only insure if your annual premium is 1k per annum.

the insurance advisor told me the norm is people would take up 100,000 worth of home contents insurance for around 300-400 and the rest of the premium covering individual items in total around 30-40k worth of goods.

i believe they do not require receipts if less than 25k. they will of course go through due diligence to verify as per necessary.

the individual items are worldwide cover.

i haven't gone through with anything yet but chubb apparently has amongst the best claims service. don't point finger and blame me if you get a different outcome... i just hearsay from the advisor's mouth.
