Nice watch! Just curious : are they stored in their own special dry box? 'Cos of the leather.

I find shooting shinny surfaces a challenge. Gotta place the lights at just the right places.

Yeah, as suggested, focus stacking is a cheaper way to start. Have fun!

My most satisfactory thus far :)

No need dry box cos the leather is treated. As long as its a dry place.

I use a CPL to eliminate reflection with some success.

A couple more shot with the Pany 45-200, before I could get my hands on the 45 f2.8

You need a proper macro lens like the Panny 45f2.8. Or used one of the legacy macro lenses from Nikon, Canon, etc. The longer lenses, equivalent to >90mm allow longer working distances to get 1:1 magnification. Finally lighting - either with a flash + good diffuser or more predictable - a proper lighting tent/table with proper lighting.

OMD with just the 12-50mm kit lens in macro mode.... no lightbox, no flash, just external light from the window...

I find the the 12-50 macro is quite decent. For higher magnification, I attached the raynox diopter.

Nomos is damn nice ....

Indeed, the 12-50's macro isnt too shabby. The nice thing is the DOF is quite usable as well. Though not at the same level of magnification (& image quality) as a dedicated macro lens, the 12-50 with DTC turned on produces some acceptable results IMO.

Nice one!!

Does stacking that mean bracketting ? Sorry am a 3 mth old noob. And I have to use a software to merge all the photos ? Now this is getting interesting for me

There are many types of bracketing, focus bracketing being one type...unfortunately the E-M5 doesn't have focus bracketing which would be useful to help automate this. As someone who photographs miniatures professionally, you need to use "focus stacking" to combine multiple shots (there are tutorials on YouTube showing how to do this). You can't do this in one shot, even with tiny sized P&S sensored cameras.

You have to make sure the shots vary so the part of the shot furthest from the camera, to the closest part to the camera, and stack them all together.

I met someone who photographs Rolexes, and he takes 20 exposures for each item, not only changing the focus but changing the lighting to hightlight all of the elements of the face.

Hi,

I just got my 60mm Macro len. But when I use it with Metz ring flash and set to RC - TTL with the clip on the provided flash. All my shoot out is total darkness. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks

How much did you pay for it?
