Just pop by Konota just now, and Nelson claims that Metz 40MZ2/3 with SCA 3302 M4 doesn't work with Dimage series camers (7/7i/7hi/A1). The flash will be over exposed. If used with 54MZ3 will be ok.

Have any one tried with this combo? How did it work out?

I believe we are talking about TTL mode here. I know that if you use SCA 3301 that will be the result, but SCA 3302 M3/4 are specifically meant for Dimage series and shouldn't have this problem. Or anyone with a SCA 3302 M3/4 willing to meet me to test it out? I have the 40MZ2 & Dimage 7i.

Sorry OT here but why use the Metz and not the original Minolta 5600? Or the Sigma equivalent? Thanks!

What if you have Nikon, Minolta & Olympus camera? Would you spend 500-600 each for a flash for each mount, or do you get a Metz flash for about the same figure, plus $200 more for 2 more adaptor? I had that for a while, but sold off the Olympus C5050 already. Also I started off with FM2 with Cullmann flash (which also use SCA 300 adaptors) so I have a adaptor to start with.

And, I had a 5400HS, which is what the 5600HS is then, and it totally CAN'T be used with the Dimage series. While the old adaptor (SCA3301) for the Metz can't use TTL with the Dimage series, I can still use Auto and Manual modes on the flash.

Further, there has been some test on the quality of light from the different makes of flash, and Metz has been doing better then the OEM flash for quite a while. I have to admit I have no idea about the current situation on this, after all I have been out of touch for quite a number of years.
