Hi,

I was hoping someone here might tell me where i can get my hands on some Diafine. I don't really know Singapore very well yet, but I have wandered into a couple of stores near City Hall, and no one carries it. I figured its not such a great product for them to sell, as its reusable for almost 12 months.

Thank you

you won't find it in singapore, best to order it online

Even if you order online, they may not ship it to you, due to it's powder nature. Best way is to beg a friend to buy for you if they are going to NYC, B&H.

somehow, manage to get it mailed to me. but i got it via vpost. then again that was 2 years ago. heh
you can try to get it from silverprint

hmm nowadays all this bomb here bomb there, very strict. waiting for some liquids to come from US now, see if got problem or not. should be here by next week if all goes well. if it arrives may consider some bleach and toner next.

anyway this diafine... nice or not? sounds a bit too good to be true.

This is really a magic formula. Free push of Tri-x 400 to EI1600 without extra grain. Tmax 100 can be pushed to EI400, and it is still practically not much grain. Only drawback is high contrast, which can be controlled somewhat at the printing stage. Scanning wise, it is too contrasty for my comfort.

The working liquids, which come in solutions A and B, can keep forever.

Lots of interesting info available on Net. Just serch for diafine.

interesting. how well does it work with hp5?

Never tried HP5, but should be similar to Tri-X, cos they are both traditional emulsions, unlike the tmax.

I have some Diafine. A few years old, but should still be good. Someone hand-carried for me from B&H in New York.
