Hey newbie dewbie here,

where would be a good place to get quality b&w prints on fibre based paper?

you see, i have an assignment where we have to hand up b&w prints and since we can print it at a lab, i would like to know what the process will be like. i did some prints before myself in the darkroom and i have reservations about sending it out (yeah despite knowing that they are the "pros").

it would be nice to have some recommendations where i could prob check out on.

many thanks.

Heard that Ruby does traditional printing, up to A3 size, have not try yet.

Maybe someone can throw some light here?
Is there a lab that can do digital print of B&W.(digitize and print via A3 printers)?

Thank

If you have reservations about sending it out, then do it yourself! Otherwise be like Russell Wong, send it out to a professional printer. Ruby does not do black & white printing. Ruby sends it out to a professional printer to print.

Will do up to 8R myself but not bigger. Any one know what is the price$$$ of the 8R and bigger in the market. Professional printer would mean professional $$$, right. Is any one providing this service which we can go direct instead of going thru Ruby etc.

Well, if you want "professional" quality and a service you can trust, certainly you can trust Russell's printer, a chap by the name of Desmond. The problem is that I do not know how to contact him.

popsicalheels,

I see you are a jazz fan :-)

Best to do your own d n p lah - you sound like a student and fankly at S$18 a pop for 8 X 10 it's gonna get expensive. Do a contact print first then select a few shots - then maybe get a pro to use fibre based paper and spend that kinda money. Dont forget it may cost more if dodging or burning in part of the print is required.
