I'm familiar with developing B + W films for 35mm. Is it the same for 120 format films? How do u actually load a 120 format film on the reel?

I don't know about other developing tanks but I assume they are similar to my Impact one. The plastic developing reels can be adjusted to load 120 films by just "adjusting" the height while locking-in the reel. Easier to show than to explain in words.

120 film is flimsier to roll it into the reel, so take care! You only learn by trying it in the dark! Good Luck! he!he!

Ok, sorry for being so bad......

what i do is to first aim the film end into the slits and then pull the film and end into it, followed by the normal turning movement of the reel.....but don't do it too fast, the film is flimsier due to the size, so it can snap easier making it harder for you to roll

I never had much success using the plastic reels for 120 films. Just don't know why though my classmates had no problem using them. Must be my technique.

I use the stainless steel reel & tanks and so far so good. Just have to get use to the loading. As mentioned by another CSer, it is easier to show than to explain.

Cheers!

Thank guys. Looks like I hafta try it myself. I'm pretty familiar with loading 35mm films.

remeber that you NEED to separate the paper backer from the film.

I've successfully developed my first 120 roll film! Thanks everyone for your help. :)
