It appears my card got damaged after i insert it into my cpu for the first time and no other apparent reason, would like some help here if any, thanks in advance

hi, CF card is the one tht is used for dslr? If so, you can download free data recovery programm. I just dwnload one last mth and manage to recover 90% of the data. But for the card i have not send for service yet...

google around for data recovery programs, there are quite a number of them out there...

yes i tried the data recovery cd that came with the sandisk, doesnt seem to be able to recover anything useful or my nef files from there

if everything else failed, let me know, i do have some data recovery programs in my harddisk. just pass me the card.

Try On Track data recovery, I previously have a CF card damaged by camera's dead battery (power cut off?!), I tried many recovery software but couldn't work, I kept the card and it's only after on year plus later and more tries that I managed to recover the data inside with this software...

mmm i use lexar media recovery...quite good(about 20 plus bucks i remembered)...if its a recent file...100% percent recovery...i think...good luck

you can also try going to funan. there is a shop called multimedia. they sell apple products. they also have a data recovery. try to google for their number and call them first. it can get quite expensive though

thanks so much for the kind responses. i will bear every thing in mind as i have sent the card to a kind soul to help me out out of goodwill. everyone on this thread has been very helpful and i appreciate it!
