EV is Exposure Value so minus 2EV will give you less light and as such the pictures will be darker.

Try shooting at normal and then maybe plus 2/3 EV. (in this camera it's +0.7EV) Remember you need to get out of auto mode.

The second shot of the muslim man is also side lit. Side lit subjects can be corrected using fill-in flash or increaseing the EV by +1.

I understand and I know that I stlill have lots to learn and I know the naunces of body language does not get passed through written communication. However, I am now feeling quite uncomfortable with the some of the comments here.

They make me feel dumber than I already feel. I know that I have some misconceptions and I know that I misunderstood the handlings of camera. I come here because I have an intention to learn photography and I'm trying my best, but snowspeeder, your comments tend to be condescending and this is the first time I've ever been to the forum and I've never met you before.

I don't know if your intention was to make me face up to the reality that I shouldn't be interested in photography and I might be misunderstanding the whole thing.

I apologize if I did and I also apologize if the questions that I pose are amateurish and they lack the expertise of one with a photography background. I just thought a forum was a place where one could seek help.

No la. You don't have to feel dumber or dishearten. We are all here to learn and share knowledge and learn from our mistakes. Some comments may sound
harsh, those are words that help us to learn. Try to get your camera manual and read it thoroughly. Then experiment with different settings, since digital
photography, there's no developing or film cost. Of coz u need to charge
your battery :bsmilie:
