The dreaded hot pixel story - new D7Hi
I'd never haev noticed until some nice person posted a utilty which tested for hot pixels on digicam ccd's. Like a fool I ran the utility, and it picked up one hot pixel that I'd never have spotted ordinarily. Now it bugs me. Wish I'd not known about it.
If I take shots at ISO 100 with the lens cap on, it shows up on shutter speeds of 1/15 sec or more on all resolutions. Yet, in normal shots its always there. Its not a stuck or dead pixel, ie it does show the correct color characteristics but its just brighter than all the others.
See it at http://www.pbase.com/image/5644746 and tell me what you think.
Changing the Cam is dangerous, you can get one back that is worse. Anybody know if Minolta service can map them out in the firmware ? I know I can do it using a hotpixel zapper, but what a pain.
