D750 or D800E

Decided on D800E second hand. :)

Landscapes usefulness won me over. Don't need the newest and shiniest toy, just a functional one will do for me. Not earning any money from this hobby anyway.

Edit: Coming from the X-Pro 1, the D800 + 24-70mm WEIGHS A TON!
Might consider changing to f1.8 primes (20 + 35 + 50 + 85) and a travel zoom.

Edit 2: Totally forgot how mechanical shutters feels like after sticking with the X-Pro1. Love them! But a little loud on the D800E.

eh, xpro-1 also mechanical shutter IIRC.

You should note that those lenses are heavier than the 24-70mm unless you don't intend to carry everything everytime.

Likely to be tripod mounted most of the time I bet??? Weight not an issue.

It doesn't. When you remove it you can see the sensor directly. It does have the option of a fake shutter sound tho

But I should change my phrasing. I meant the mirror slap, not really the shutter :P

Xpro 1 uses a mechanical shutter... xe1, xe2 and xt1 all comes with mechanical shutters...

Even if you see the sensor when you remove the lens, the shutters are still there. just that there is no mirror.

I should know. I tested the preproduction xpro1 before release and currently own the xt1...

And I thought the d800 and 24-70 is a lightweight combo... lol. I guess it is all relative.

And some of us rejoicing that the new 300/4 is so small and light... like a 24-70...

Sorry my bad. Anyway, I meant mirror slap. Bad choice of wording on my part.

Noooo..... Cat Lover need to go for Df...... the King of Cat Shooter.... :)

I second that. Nowadays I shoot all my cats with the Df. Small and light and unbelievable high ISO capability. My D800E now 'pak monk' in the dry cabinet. :)

I shoot with Df for most of the time.
But I sold D800 away, give room for a new body to come in :D

I only can afford to have 1 wife and 1 mistress.

LOL.... and MEOOOOWWWW ?

frankly if u ever decided to get at f1.4 lens do yourself a favour and get the d750. the af module in my d750 is so much more consistent than my d800.

to me my d800 is not useable on my 35mm f1.4 as the af percentage is low. nsc cannot solve this btw.... the d750 is so mch better

Never had an issue with my D800 using my "Fast Glass" Lenses... all of them.

User technique may also be the issue. I know some people who can't use "Fast Glass" wide open without miss-focussing many images.

i am sure getting a d750 helped with my user technique then cuz the problem went away the day i got the d750

at the end of the day, diff people have different standards. some may find it ok for their usage.

i had both a d800 and d750 for a few days and i sold my d800 and it was an easy decision.

don't take my word for it and google around. i read reports online saying the d750 af was much better and that is why i am willing to spend the money just to test. i am glad i did
