Would like to offer this service at SGD 50 per visit.

If anyone is interested in a CRT/LCD Profiling service, do kindly let me know.

Thanks.

Thought this is against the EULA of the profiling software... I remember a previous thread offering this same (or similar) service by someone else being closed.

It was against EULA of ColorVision OptiCAL/PhotoCAL.

BTW, I'm not using Spyder/Spyder but Gretag MacBeth's EyeOne solution, EULA allows me to provide this as a service as §1(c)(ii)

(ii) to create a profile, as part of Your providing a profiling service, for a specific input or output device owned by a third party for use by that third party on such device.

I do read the EULA.

Actually, Cathay Photo and Eastgear offer this service using Colourvision Spyder as well.

If that so, that's against EULA then. Spyder's license forbids that.

hi

you can offer DEMO visit and leave behind a demo profile.
there is no EULA against demo visit

:D

Ok, enough banal talk, as I said what I'm doing is perfectly legal.

Anyone interested in this service.

I was merely checking. I might engage your service in the future. Upz for you...

Thanks.

Just some info for those wondering why should one profiles one's display...

As a serious photographer, one can spend a great deal of time post-processing your images to perfection. However beware, if you are not working on a calibrated monitor, you might just be wasting your time.

Each display be in CRT or LCD, will displays colors slightly differently. If your eyes are good, you should be able get close to accurate monitor calibration using software tools such as Adobe Gamma on Windows or using the built in Mac OS X Screen calibrator.

A hardware based colorimeter just as the Gretag Macbeth i1 Display will take the guess-work out of the monitor calibration process.

If you are in Singapore, and need of a CRT/LCD profiling service, do kindly contact me.

The service will be SGD 50/visit.

Hrm... to be frank, I don't really bother if this violates the EULA. But it does violates CSLA, so... sorry mate, thread closed.

After several discussions with other Mods and Admins, we will reopen this thread for,

A) Spyder is intimately-related to digital photography work
B) Oeyvind is providing a professional service for clause A.

To provide a better understanding of Consumer Corner's posting guidelines, a more complete procedures and descriptions posting will be made shortly.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

No worries Togu.

Anyway, have thus far helped wai and sniperd profiled their LCDs.

Anyone interested, pls kindly let me know.

Cheers,

Tim

uppzzz for you :) excellante!

Thanks for calibrating 3 of my LCD screens, finally their colour matches, not only the colour looks better, I also feel more confident when i process my picture.

See to believe, an accurately calibrated monitor is even more important than setting your WB correctly, no point to spend hours to tweak your photo in PS when your monitor is not even calibrated

Totally agree. Although I dun shoot in RAW but after calibration, hehehehe... I saw that I have missed out quite a bit of colors :embrass:

Anyone interested pls PM me for appointment.

P.S. Will try to give a brief intro to color management as well.

Sniper won't need profiling, his eyesights are just too good!

heh heh.. this one got nothing to do with eyesight leh... it's the screen color that's the factor :bsmilie:

just wondering how often we need to profile our crt/lcd very now and then?

Recommendation is once every two weeks. And trust me, you'll really want to calibrate your screens for processing. ;) $50 is a good price. Go go go!
