Hi guys, seldom post in video thread.

i just got a Creative Vado HD today from MS. The shipment has just came in today and they are selling like hotcakes.

this little gadget is really cool.. shoot video in HD (1280x720p).

any fellow Csers are having Vado HD?

Nope...doesnt look like HD video + horrid mono sound quality. Cannot change batteries on the fly since proprietary with no 3rd party makers yet, or memory cards slot.

I rather record using my handphone which is somewhat similar in function.

But for its price, okay-lah.

hmm...went to http://sg.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=118&subcategory=828&product=17761 and saw that the video quality is up to 640 x 480 pixels only. Are you sure it's HD? keke...I don't think so... :nono:

I think that's not the HD version, should be thus one:

This claims 1280x720 resolution which will be good enough for youtube and vimeo if the lens is sharp enough. Of course it's Creative so it's best to check it out properly before buying. Could be more gimickry than video quality.

I got the Vado HD from Marina Square Outlet for $299 last Friday.

At the time of purchase, there are only a few left on the rack.

I have called Creative and they told me the shipment only came in last friday.

I have tried to shoot video clips over the weekends at the Marina Barrage.

The quality is definitely better than SD.

It is a no-frills pocket videocam with HD quality but mono sound recording.

So if you are not a over-demanding videographer, it is a toy to get for Xmas.

I will post a picture taken from one of the video frame in 1280x720.

Usually when I come home with camera stuffs, PC stuffs from shows, CFO pulls a mile long face.
But this toy, CFO smiling away because it is so simple to use and it is in her handbag now :angry:

Quality not bad.. but battery not very lasting. still thinking how to mount on my car dashboard
